Good evening, fellow bloggers. Nutfield Weaver is up to her eyeballs in ribbon and mercerized cotton and loving every minute of it! It has been hard to get in a lot of weaving the past week since the boys and I were on vacation, but it was absolutely wonderful to visit family and see some friends from Michigan.

I've been experimenting with new ribbon flower designs for my ring bearer pillows. It has been loads of fun - there were a few clinkers but most turned out okay. I love making the wee violets and am experimenting with apple blossoms (Londonderry, NH IS apple country, after all!).

Here's a picture of the latest pillow, called "Les Petits Fleurs."
Have a blessed evening, Kate

Busy, busy, busy. I've had a lot of positive feedback from brides and boutique owners regarding my wedding accessories, which is very encouraging. Lots of new ring bearer pillows are on the way. The huck lace is off of the loom, and more is in process. Here's a picture of a sweet ring pillow that is generating a lot of interest on the website. A rather quiet New England weaver is having to learn about the ins and outs of small business rather quickly!

Happy One-Day-After-Tax-Day everyone. Lots of fun weaving-related activities going on at my house! I have been busy brainstorming about possible wedding-special occasion handwoven items and have a few items in process. I appreciate all of the thoughtful and encouraging feedback I have received from friends and family regarding this concept! There are a couple of new items listed on etsy: a ring bearer's pillow and a wedding purse. Lots of tinkering with patterns ideas -- I was glad that I used my scrap bag for misfires as opposed to my precious handwoven lace.

There is a new warp on the loom. This one is of 10/2 mercerized cotton and is threaded for a 4 shaft huck lace. Simple but pretty! Here's a picture...
Have a blessed day!

The warmer weather is luring me outdoors, but even so, I've been weaving away and also brainstorming on new projects! I spent most of yesterday working on designing ring bearer pillows. The patterns are coming together (and I'm learning from past mistakes and taking careful notes of my work). I think that something like this, made out of handwoven, lace fabric, would make a very nice heirloom-quality wedding accessory. Pictures will come soon!

A special note: I am offering FREE SHIPPING at my etsy shop to all U.S. & Canadian customers through May 15th! (My gift to all of you shopping for your moms). FREE SHIPPING is also available on ALL of my earrings found at through 15th May! Have a very happy Easter!
Blessings and be well.

The bookmarks are off the loom, trimmed, and pressed! They look interesting; each one has its own personality. A few are rather boldly colored, and some are in quieter, pastel shades. I'm still wrestling with the digital camera and trying to learn how to best photograph small objects. It is definitely a work in progress!

The dyeing supplies arrived from ProChem and I've had fun painting warps. One colorway was painted to remind me of delphiniums; the other is sort of a cottage garden colorway. I've gotten a few bookmarks woven and am pleased with how they look. Have a look! Hope you have a blessed day. -K

I was pleased to have one of my woven creations selected for a "Treasury" on etsy this week! Basically, fellow Etsian artists curate a list of 12 items that center around a theme (i.e. a particular color, a season, an animal). Thanks to "fifthquadrant" on etsy for including my scarf in her "espresso bean brown" collection! The list will expire later this evening, but it was nice to receive this affirmation from a fellow artist. I have pasted the link just to the right of this entry.

I am continuing to wind warp threads for a run of tea towels and a set of napkins. It is taking a while! Maybe someday I will get a winder, but until now it is just me and the peg board (and a good playlist on my iPod).
Have a blessed day!
