Nutfield Weaver is delighted to learn that the Londonderry Times has requested an interview with me to discuss weaving in Londonderry. I'm so pleased to be a part of the weaving tradition in this part of New England. Early colonists raised flax and wool and wove the yarns from these fibers into functional fabrics. There is so much history to learn about here!

Lots of weaving today on the black lace, which is nearly completed. Also did a lot of experimenting with ribbon flowers and glass beads. Next project: a handwoven lace covered guest book!

Be well, Kate

Nutfield Weaver is featured in a lovely Etsy Treasury today! There are some beautiful wedding items on display from artisans from the Etsy Wedding Team.

Good morning! Nutfield Weaver (NutfieldWeaver) has been featured on another blog! One of my ring bearer pillows is pictured on the front page of the following website:

What a nice thing to see this morning!

The loom is warped and ready for weaving. Off I go! All of this rain is keeping me indoors, which definitely has its advantages when it comes to getting some work finished.
Be well!

Nutfield Weaver has neglected her loom lately and has instead been busy picking strawberries and making jam. The berries only last so long!

Hope to have my black lace (spot weave) fabric completed by the end of the week. It is a small run - only 4 yards or so -- but I'm just curious to see if it creates any interest!

Still learning the ins and outs of google, twitter, flickr, and all of those other sites out there!

Have a super day! Kate :)

Nutfield Weaver is happy today because she has received some very nice feedback lately from clients! I recently helped a mom secretly buy a little gift for her daughter -- it was fun to be part of this delightful scheme. Here's the feedback that was posted on my Etsy website today:

Thank you:) Thank you:) Thank you!!!!!! She loved it, really made her day and thank you for the sweet note you included, excellent secret keeper:D A+++ customer service and super quality work, just lovely:)

Ahh...what a treat to work with such lovely people -- brides, moms, everyone who just likes a pretty thing or two once in a while!

Here's a picture of the "secret" present!

Good morning, all. Your Nutfield Weaver is pleased that the sun has finally come out in New Hampshire. Yea!

I'm pleased to announce that I am now a member of the Etsy Wedding Team! This is a juried team of artisans and craftsmen/women who create special, handmade items for your wedding.

The loom is being warped for black lace fabric. I'm branching out a bit from my usual ivories and whites! I'll load pictures when the time is right -- the threads just look like spaghetti right now.

Have a lovely day. TGIF!

Nutfield Weaver is a tad blue because it is still raining here in New Hampshire! Uggh... However, being required to stay indoors has allowed me to do a lot of weaving, sewing, and designing!

I am so excited to have finished my first handwoven bridal capelet today! I will have pictures of it tomorrow, after I find myself a dress form!

Hope that all of the dads had a great day yesterday. Happy Father's Day (one day late...)

Be well, Kate :)

Hello, everyone. With end of year activities for the boys and the gardening needing attention, it is a tight squeeze to find time to weave and to sew! However, I did manage to put the finishing touches on a new ring bearer pillow design. This one is special: there is a small pocket on the inside liner of the front of the pillow for rings (also secured with a velcro "button") so that there is no need to fuss with ribbons for tying the rings. I'm pleased with the results!

Sew Special Boutique, Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, has a very nice feature of me on their website. Please go to:
and you will see my bio, a few pics, and descriptions of some other artists whose work is found in the shop.

A rainy Sunday here in New England!
Be well, Kate

Nutfield Weaver is finding it hard to believe it is June already?! It has been a busy couple of weeks between springtime activities, a liturgical weaving project, an elementary school weaving project, and weaving and sewing for my etsy site! Our garden is taking shape, too. We've had wonderful radishes this spring and my son's sugar snap peas are amazing.

I'm pleased to have a select number of my handwoven wedding accessories available for purchase in a bridal/special occasion shop in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. Sew Special Boutique is located at 130 Middlesex Tpk., Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. Please stop in if you're in the area (just north of Boston) to have a peek!

I'm working on hair accessories for flower girls. They are coming along pretty well and are really fun to make.

Have a lovely evening! Kate
