I have exciting news! Nutfield Weaver's tea towels are currently being featured in a lovely magazine, "Design New England." The January/February 2013 has a "local wares" section that highlights kitchen items crafted by New England artisans, and yours truly is among them! The print version is in shops throughout the region, but those of you who reside outside of the northeast and are interested in taking a peek, there is an online version available here. It is a really nice publication; I hope you'll have a look!
I am working on several weaving projects right now, including custom orders for housewares (something that is always fun to do). I also got out the power tools recently and constructed a backdrop for my shop photographs. The Man and I were at Home Depot and I found a reasonably priced package of pine bead board. I cut some of the pieces into appropriate lengths, glued them together with carpenter's blue, and ran a coating of white paint over the top. Now I am beginning the rather tedious process of taking photographs of existing pieces. Here is a handwoven lace Valentine: What do you think?
I am hoping that having a simple backdrop like this will save some time during the photography process and offer a sense of cohesiveness for my online shop. I guess time will tell!
